Windows Networking - Windows 7 network problem:-

Answer
First let me premise my answer by saying I do not yet have a great deal of experience in thy Windows 7 world.  My experience has primarily been with XP machines.

That said, XP and 7 use very different device drivers.  You may want to check on the Linksys web site to make sure they don't have special drivers available for Windows 7.  Even if your card can support 7, it may need different drivers than were available for XP or Vista.

If their are good drivers for 7, there should not be any incompatibility issues with the router.  Windows 7 makes exactly the same type of TCP/IP connection that has been available going back to Windows 95 or even earlier.  If the wireless card and the router work together, and the card is W7 compatible, they should work.  There should not be any need to reconfigure the router.

When you are connecting to the wireless network, you should be prompted for the WEP code, but nothing more than that.  There should not be any code or password or login name needed to access the router.  It is possible you are trying to make a web connection to the router, which may require an administrative name and password.  But if Windows 7 is requesting something other than that, I'm afraid I have not encountered that.
