If you have ever wanted to search a select few of your favorite websites, use the Google custom search to create your own search engine. Using this free service allows you to specify what sites to search or exclude from the results. For example, Computer Hope created a Windows system processes and services custom search that searches a few dozen of the best places to find information about files and Windows system processes. Using this custom search, we can quickly see the exact results when looking up a file such as "atapi.sys", without having to hunt through the millions of forum posts that contain this file.
Google allows you to make as many custom searches as you want and even gives you the code to implement a custom search on your own page. Using Google Custom search would also allow you to setup a custom search that searches your own web page, blog, or twitter account.
