Clamshell

A term used to describe a cell phone that has a fold in the center that allows the phone to open and close. When open the user has access to the keypad and can view the LCD display. When close it is compact and allows for easy storage. To the right is a picture of the Motorola Quantico phone and an example of what a clamshell cell phone would look like closed (left) and open (right).
