Today, cell phones are becoming capable of doing almost anything a computer is capable of doing. Below are just a few examples of what some of the new phones are capable of doing.
- Take and make calls to any other person with a phone.
- Send and receive text messages.
- Take, view, and store pictures using embedded cameras.
- Access the Internet, e-mail, chat, and even download add-ons for the phone.
- Play games and have access to common programs such as a calculator, contacts, calendar, clock, to-do list, etc.
- Store and run files.
- Play music.
As can be seen by the picture to the left of the Nokia 6010, modern cell phones have changed drastically from the original cell phones that were released to the public. New cell phones are much lighter than the old brick cell phones, much smaller, and have LCD displays (often color LCD displays) to display contacts, pictures, ringtones, games, etc.
